It was January 1st. 2011.
Shots fired at a Clark county trailer park.
Deputy Suzanne Hopper was killed at the hands of a mentally ill man.
As the result of the incident, the Ohio senate has passed the Suzanne Hopper Act which would add mental health information to a database law officers can bring up when dealing with a suspect.
Allen county sheriff Sam Crish says the Suzanne Hopper Act can be a useful tool to them.
The bill still has to go through the Ohio house and be signed by the governor before it becomes law.
