Snow storm hits west central Ohio

Lima Ohio -

It may be Spring, but a huge snowstorm has blanketed the Midwest. Allen County received around six inches of snow and the white stuff is still falling. Many people spent the day shoveling their driveways, but there were a few who took advantage of the winter weather.

Not everybody thinks snow in the spring is a bad thing. For some kids, it means a day off school and a chance to get outside and play in the white stuff. Most people though were not making snow forts and snow angels, instead they were busy shoveling several inches of snow off their sidewalks and driveways.

The weather was a surprise to many who thought the snow ended with winter. The Ohio Department of Transportation was not caught off guard by the snow though. They got their trucks out on the roads as early as they could. And although the trucks are out, driving conditions could be dangerous so take your time or avoid the weather altogether if you can.

The Midwest is not the only region that felt the wrath of winter. The same snow storm is expected to cancel flights and close schools on the east coast as well.
