It has been a long and heart wrenching 16 months since the brutal murder of a Mercer County father and daughter.
And although there have been two arrests made in the case the sheriff says the investigation is far from over.
A second arrest in as many days surrounding the year and a half old case that Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey says was never cold. Every tip was followed up on and it was a tip from the Jay County Indiana Sheriff's Office that lead to the arrest of a second person.
At a media conference Wednesday morning Grey released more information in the investigation and that another Union City, Ohio man has been served an arrest warrant in connection with the deaths of Robert and Colleen Grube in November of 2011.
18 year old Trevin Sanders is charged with 27 counts including aggravated murder, aggravated homicide, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and more. Sanders was 17 when the crimes were committed so the case is starting out in juvenile court. He is currently being held in an Indiana prison on unrelated charges.
Just Tuesday morning 22 year old Bryant Rhoades was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice in the case. Grey says while there is some resolution with the arrests there is still more work to be done.
Grey says that the goal was not to just make an arrest but to get a conviction and they are being careful to protect the integrity of the case as the investigation continues. He says there could be more charges and more people involved before the investigation is closed.
Sanders and Rhoades cases have been turned of to the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
