Hancock County -
Hancock County commissioners delivering their "State of the County" address today.
The address focused on the county's successes as well as the challenges they faced in 2012. One on-going struggle for Findlay has been flood control work for the Blanchard river. County Commissioner Brian Robertson says the Army Corps of Engineers is close to finishing their recommendations, and they should know soon how much more money it will cost to fix the problem. Through 20-12, the county has spent over four million dollars toward the flood project.
In addition to working on flood control, Hancock County is also working on staying competitive. And Robertson says the county has the oil, agriculture and industry to do so.
Other successes for the county include the adult probation program, which commissioners say has been recognized as one of the best in the state of Ohio.
