Hello Lima! Being from a small town in North Carolina, I understand the value of local sports to the community (especially on Friday nights) and could not be more excited to cover all that Lima as well as Northwest and West Central Ohio has to offer.
Sports has been a huge part of my life since the days of hitting a wiffle ball in the front yard with my dad when I could barely stand as a young child. I played three sports in high school (baseball, basketball, and football) and continued my baseball career into college at the University of Richmond in Virginia. After four amazing years, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity professionally to further my playing days. For the next year or so I continued the long bus trips, low pay, and numerous meals at gas stations in pursuit of my major league dreams. But when the cleats were hung up for the final time and my shoulder said "buddy, I think we're done here", I began focusing on my career in television.
My first job in broadcasting was as a sports/news photographer at WRIC-TV8 in Richmond. I covered everything from my alma mater's athletics to some of the nation's best high school athletes. It gave me a fantastic foundation for contributing to the wonderful sports department here at Your Hometown Stations.
I love talking and playing sports so if you've got a question regarding anything athletic or simply want to chat about how to beat a Cover 2 defense come up and say hello! Even better, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
