Students studying Travel and Tourism at the University of Northwestern Ohio are getting ready for a four day Bahamas cruise on the Carnival Cruise line. Eight UNOH students studying Travel and Tourism have learned the ins and outs of destination travel and cruise ships. On Sunday, students will travel with two faculty members on a four day cruise to the Bahamas as part of a hands on learning experience.
Students have learned the do's and don'ts of marketing a cruise line and ironically will travel with Carnival, who suffered a devastating incident when Carnival Triumph broke down at sea.
Students will travel to Nassau and Freeport, where they will have the chance to experience and learn more about shore excursions such as kayaking and island tours. The students trip will comes after Carnival spent $700 million to improve its fleet of 101 ships.
