With Earth Day celebrated on Monday, there's news this week that a local waterway is cleaner than it was a quarter of a century ago.
The Ottawa River seems to be bouncing back thanks to stricter EPA guidelines.
A new report on the Ottawa River shows the waterway is cleaner than it was 25 years ago, but the job is not done.
The report will help establish future wastewater discharge limits for municipalities and industries.
Beth Seibert with the Ottawa River Coalition says they've made significant progress.
The study will help determine wastewater discharge limits for the next few years and what kind of improvements will have to be made.
There is a comment period on the draft report that runs until May 20th.
Those comments can be directed toward the Ohio EPA.
