The League of Women Voters want residents to be informed on the future of the Johnny Appleseed Park and its upcoming May levy.
The League of Women Voters of the Lima area is part of a national nonpartisan organization, that encourages citizens to take an active and informed role in government. At this evenings meeting members heard from Johnny Appleseed Park district director Kevin Haver whom spoke about the programs, facilities, and offered education throughout the 12 parks in the district.
League Vice President Millie Hughes says that members are non partisan on any levy, but want area residents to be informed on what the parks offer and what will be on the may ballot. In addition to educational meeting a park tour was given of the Farm Park and Ottawa Metro park. The Johnny Appleseed Metro Parks levy is a 3/4 mil replacement levy.
