It is already a difficult time for a family when someone has been diagnosed with cancer and is going through treatment. Now add on the responsibility of getting to and from appointments.
The American Cancer Society is hoping to help with their "Road to Recovery" program, a volunteer service that provides transportation for those needing a ride to appointments. Many times family members can't get enough time off from work to make it to all their loved ones treatments and these volunteers give them some peace of mind.
Marybeth Torsell with the American Cancer Society says they are looking for more drivers willing to give of their time.
If you are interested in becoming a driver for "Road to Recovery" you can call 888-227-6446. You must possess a valid Ohio driver's license, insurance, reliable vehicle and daytime availability.
