Multiple highlights at the annual St. Rita's volunteer appreciation luncheon Wednesday.
Hundreds of volunteers were 'thanked' for their thousands of hours of time given to the Medical Center.
All the volunteers, young and older alike, contributed 122-thousand hours in 2012.
One of the big awards of the day went to a surprised Tiz Guagenti, who was given the "Catherine McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteerism".
Guagenti has volunteered for more than 38 years and contributed 95-hundred hours of service to St. Rita's.
The auxiliary also presented a check to the medical center's Emergency Room Expansion and Renovation project.
Baxter says the amount of time volunteered at the medical center is equivalent to having 58 full-time employees.
Since 1953, St. Rita's Auxiliary has raised nearly 7.4 million dollars for the medical center.
