For fans of monster truck racing, there's not a better experience for miles around than the Lima 4 Wheel Jamboree Nationals at the Allen County Fairgrounds.
They come for the thrills and the spills.
But getting to the fairgrounds could be a hassle for some, as road construction on SR 309 west of the fairgrounds has traffic bottled up at times as fans try to make their way into the event.
Most of the people we spoke with took alternative routes into the fairgrounds and didn't have to deal with the construction.
Having this many fans packing the Allen County Fairgrounds grandstand is a sure sign that people have more money to spend. And they're spending it here in Lima adding millions of dollars into the local economy as they eat at our restaurants and buy fuel.
And speaking of fuel, these monster trucks guzzle gas like you wouldn't believe.
For example if you were to take one of these monster trucks on a one thousand mile vacation it would cost 26 thousand 250 dollars in fuel.
