Celina, OH -
As the days get warmer and Summer approaches, more people are hitting the waves in their boats. On Saturday, a course was put on by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft, teaching participants the laws of boating and how to stay safe on the water.
Ohio law requires any person born on or after January 1, 1982 to provide proof that they successfully completed an approved boating safety course, in order to operate any watercraft powered by a motor greater than 10 horsepower. ODNR officers would like to see everyone take the course.
For a list of future classes or for more information on Ohio watercraft laws, contact the Division of Watercraft at 419-738-6189 or visit www.ohiodnr.gov.
