Putnam County -
Law enforcement officials are trying to crack down on texting and driving, and a local grant is helping them raise awareness.
A new simulator is helping educate young drivers and adults on the dangers of texting and driving. A grant from the Putnam County Educational Services Center made this demonstration possible. This new machine simulates distractions that a driver might face and has them take driving directions while making calls and sending texts. This demonstration is part of a "Stay Alive, Don't Text and Drive" campaign.
This simulator machine will be displayed at the Putnam County Fair through this week.
