High temperatures didn't keep Putnam County residents away from the fair today, but they needed to take some extra precautions with the excessive heat. Medics and EMT personnel at the fair are prepared for issues that could come with the rising temperatures.
The fair provides areas of shade for people to stop and rest. Staying hydrated and cool on a hot fair day is crucial, whether that be with water, snow cones, ice cream or a lemon shake up.
All the necessary precautions are taken by 4-H members to make sure the animals are taken care of, including lots of water, ice packs, and fans in the barns.
The temperatures for the rest of the week will cool down some but still be in the 80s this weekend.
