The department of homeland security training area law enforcement officers and private industry security officials on ways to spot bombs.
Officials gathering at the Perry Township administration building for the improvised explosive device detection training. The lessons included both classroom work and hands on education. Participants ranged from small town officers to security officials from Husky and Marathon.
Participants say this type of training is necessary, especially with high traffic routes running through Allen County.
Allen County Homeland Security director Russ Decker says Allen County is the first place in the country to receive this new training.
