The city of Lima is getting an upgrade when it comes
to parking in downtown. Motorists will notice a difference this fall as
the parking lot between the Health Department and the RTA will be
redone with new metered parking technology allowing people to use credit
cards as an option of payment.
New parking meters will also be
installed on West and Elizabeth Streets downtown as they are being
reconstructed next year. The parking lot will have numbered spaces
and you will have to pay at a pay station. Construction on the parking
construction on the parking lot will start in August.
The West and Elizabeth Street projects are scheduled for early next year. Both will
remain one way but with only one lane of traffic, leaving room for a
bike lane and diagonal parking replacing the parallel parking.
