LIMA, OHIO -
The Fourth of July holiday comes just in time to take advantage of those lower gas prices.
AAA Auto Club expecting 1.6 million Ohioans will travel 50 miles or more this coming Independence Day. Nationwide, nearly 41 million Americans will travel. That's a slight decrease from last year. AAA officials say that's because the Fourth lands on a Thursday this year rather than Wednesday, making it a shorter holiday period.
Even though a lot of hype surrounds travel on Memorial Day and Labor Day, Independence Day is actually the most traveled of the three.
Eighty four percent of travelers are expected to get to their destination by automobile.
