Dave Fulton made the trip from Findlay to Springfield fireworks in Bluffton with his three daughters on Sunday, stocking up on some firework fun. The 4th of July is something he and his family have been celebrating for years, but he tries to limit himself to $100 dollars. "If I didn't set a limit, I would need a truck for the amount of stuff I would buy," Dave says.
People coming in will spend as little as a few dollars to thousands of dollars for their celebrations. The larger the explosion and the louder the boom, the better the fireworks sell; however, there is one item growing in popularity, and it doesn't make a sound or explode. Sales representatives say sky lanterns have been flying off the shelf, which is good, but different.
Located just off I-75, at mile marker 142, Springfield Fireworks has grown over the years, thanks in part to its year-round hours, but the 4th of July is definitely the busiest time of the year for employees. Business is booming for the shop, but employees say its just nice to know they are able to put smiles on people's faces and be a part of hundreds of 4th of July celebrations.
