DELPHOS, OHIO -
The wastewater treatment plant in Delphos has gone without any major maintenance problems for the past eight years; however, outdated technology, specifically membrane plates, has led to capacity problems. Council discussed the issue and passed the first of three readings Monday night, to make upgrades to the plant. One thing on the minds of everyone is the cost and budgeting.
City administrators expected upgrades to be made, but didn't expect them until 2016. Safety Service Director, Greg Berquist says there are options, but the upgrade of at least one train of membrane plates is a minimum. More upgrades could be made, but more upgrades mean a greater cost.
