Mi'kel Johnson, 18, and Randell Howard, 19, were each charge with one count of murder. Judge William Lauber set bond for each man at $1 million and appointed a public defender to represent them in court.
Johnson and Howard are accused of killing 20-year-old Joshua Davenport. Davenport was found on June 24 in an alley near the 700 block of Albert Street with multiple gunshot wounds. Howard was initially charged with obstructing justice because he was believed to hinder the investigation by destroying evidence.
A preliminary hearing is set for July 11 for both men.
