Monday night's heavy rains resulting in flash flooding in Lima and Allen county, on top of a severe weather threat. The suddenly rising waters even trapping some drivers in their cars. The drivers of two cars along South Metcalf Street near Vine Street became stranded when they attempted to drive through nearly five feet of water. The passengers of one vehicle were able to escape to safety, while a pregnant woman and her teenage daughter had to wait for Lima Fire Crews.
The Lima Police Department has closed S. Metcalf Street underpass near Vine Street until water recedes to a safer level.
