Health Partners adds new office space

Posted: Updated:

Health Partners of Western Ohio is growing and expanding once again.  About a dozen of the health care agency's administrators and human resource officials recently moved into the second floor of the Ellis medical building in downtown Lima.

"You know, we started 10 years ago this month at LACCA, and we were in three rooms, and it was three employees.  So we now have 140 employees.  We now have five sites-- one in Lima, one in New Carlisle, our Kenton site has been up for close to a year... we're ready to do a big building project there, and we also have two sites up in the northern counties in Bryan and Defiance," said Janis Sunderhaus, CEO of Health Partners of Western Ohio.

The move was necessary because as the agency grew, space ran out at the Gene Wright Community Health Center.

"There was four offices in one room.  The CFO, myself, and two of my assistant team members within the same office at one time," said Byron Selden, Human Resources Director.
Medical care will continue to be provided at the Eighth Street location.

Officials at the agency have plans to keep growing.  Health Partners was recently awarded a $152,000 enrollment grant connected to the Affordable Care Act.

"Most people who are out in our community who will be eligible for Medicaid and insurance under the Affordable Care Act don't know about it.  So we're hiring some more people that will be able to help people walk through that process," said Sunderhaus.

Sunderhaus estimates 70,000 visits will be made to the Health Partners' clinics this year.
