Lima police are investigating an afternoon hit-skip accident that sent one man to an area hospital.
Officers responded to a call in the 400 block of South Harrison of a bicyclist being hit by a car, upon arrival they found the victim but no car.
Witnesses say that a silver colored car, possibly a grand-am was heading north on Harrison when it struck a man riding a bike.
It then veered off the left side of the road, up onto the grass, around a parked car and back onto Harrison when it continued on and never stopped.
The man on the bike, that neighbors identified just as Tommy, was transported to St. Rita's Medical Center where his condition is unknown at this time.
Officers on the scene spent the afternoon interviewing witnesses and forensically mapping the accident to help determine approximate speed and conditions at the time of the accident.
The L.P.D. does have a partial plate number on the vehicle they are looking for. It is F-O-S, next two numbers missing, last two numbers 1-1.
