A change in command at the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center. A new military leader is taking over for the next three years.
The official Change of Command Ceremony taking place at the Shawnee Township facility. The ceremony takes place every time a new U.S. Army plant commander takes the reigns at the tank facility. This time around Lieutenant Colonel Yee Hang passing the leadership role onto Lieutenant Colonel Matthew Hodge. Hodge says, despite calls for cutbacks, he has faith in the Abrams tank. Hodge will also face furloughs at the plant because of the sequester cuts.
Hodge says for the first 90 days on the job he plans to get to know everyone and to learn the day to day aspects of the position. Hodge is originally from Iowa and says he appreciates the patriotism he's already seen in the Lima community.
