A company that has been working to remove algae from Grand Lake St. Marys for the past few years is testing a new project.
Algaeventure Systems testing equipment near the rotary lighthouse at Grand Lake. The company is trying to separate the algae from the water in an economical way.
The Algaeventure Systems previously worked on projects to turn the harmful blue green algae in the lake into algae that is actually good for the water. Crews have been testing the system for the past two weeks and plan to continue the field study for an additional five weeks.
