Ty Batemon

Ty Batemon joined Your News Now in July 2013 as a multimedia journalist. She then was able to get to know West Central Ohio as a journalist. In June 2014, Ty was promoted to the 5 and 10 p.m. Fox anchor.

Before joining the team, Ty was a multimedia journalist and co-anchor for Fast Track, Purdue University's student television news. She also interned for WEIU, in Charleston, IL., as an anchor, reporter, producer. Ty began her news journey at WLFI, in West Lafayette, IN.

Ty received her degree in Mass Communication at Purdue University in December 2012. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, but traveled the world as a military dependent. Although, Ty says she traveled all over the world she was always a Hoosier.

During her time at Purdue, Ty was very proud to leave the university with a mark. Earlier in 2013, Fast Track was awarded first place at The Broadcast Education Association awards for its winning piece Fast Track Best of Fall 2012 for the category television newscast airing 4 or 5 days per week.

What Ty loves most about reporting is being able to do what she loves most everyday. Ty says meeting people and making a difference in everyday life is just a plus. But she knows if she touches at least one person with her stories then she knows she doing her job.

When Ty isn't at work she enjoys catching up with her family, watching movies, and getting up dated on her favorite series and shows.

Ty is happy to call the Buckeye state her home and cant wait to continue to explore the state and meet more Ohioans. She says she's even more excited to see the Big Ten schools go head to head.

Feel free to drop her an email with any story ideas happening in the Central Ohio area. You can email me at tbatemon@wlio.com
