Progress with the I-75 construction project is causing problems for unknowing drivers looking to head northbound from State Route 117/309. The ramp from 117 and 309 to I-75 northbound has been closed and will remain closed for approximately one month.
Drivers looking to head northbound on I-75 are being directed to use the Fourth street on-ramp which was completed Wednesday night. The closure of the loop ramp off of 309/117 may last for one month, but that particular ramp will never open again.
As the project continues, Director Slusher says he appreciates the community's support and patience, adding that the project is nearing completion. Lanes are expected to be completed in October, but will not be open for use until early November.
Occasional lane closures through the project area can be expected to continue; however, after Saturday, no closures will occur until after the Labor Day holiday.
