Walk to End Alzheimer's

Posted: Updated:

It's the most common form of dementia with no known cure or cause. Alzheimer's accounts for about 50% to 80% of dementia cases.

More than 5 million Americans are living with the disease and the Alzheimer's Association wants those numbers to change. The Walk to End Alzheimer's is one way to raise awareness and raise money for research to find a cure. Alzheimer's impacts an individual's memory, judgement and ability to reason, eventually making them incapable of caring for themselves. The Alzheimer's Association encourages people dealing with the disease to use their resources.

The Allen County Walk to End Alzheimer's is scheduled for Saturday, September 21st at Faurot park. Registration starting at 9:30 am with the walk at 10:30.
