An update on improvements made in Allen County after commissioners passed the largest capital improvement fund back in March.
The parking lot across from the court house is one of the most noticeable improvements as it was exuviated and rebuilt. The lot is finished and offers parking to county employees and the public. Commission president Jay Begg says that they completed this project with assistance from the city.
Also completed is a new sidewalk on the south side of the court house and the jail, now Crime Victim Services is getting a new roof. Begg says that casino money, sales tax revenue and watching the budget in previous years has given them the chance to catch up on much needed projects. As capital improvements as capital improvements continue, Begg says that the clock tower at the court house needs to be fixed before work can start on the rest of the building.
They are looking into doing a fund raising campaign to restore the clock tower.
