We spend half of the hours we're awake at the workplace. That doesn't leave a lot of time to exercise, and it can also lead to some unhealthy food and drink choices. This morning, business leaders, healthcare providers and wellness experts from Auglaize, Mercer and Van Wert Counties attended a wellness summit to change that.
The Affordable Care Act has changed the way healthcare providers are paid for their services. There are incentives for keeping people healthy and out of the hospital. Employee's health was at the core of the workshop. Sometimes, old habits can be hard to break, so there were ideas on how to make a wellness program successful. Programs are designed for both small businesses and large corporations. One thing to keep in mind, it will also improve the quality of your life while you're away from work too.
