LIMA, OHIO -
Visitors of downtown Lima have watched contractors renovate the Old City Prime building for the past year. Now, Your News Now has a sneak peek inside of the remodeled building.
Restaurant owner John Heaphy says the renovations began last fall and last minute details are being finalized for this weekend's open house. The event costs $20 and all of the funds raised will benefit Downtown Lima Inc. The non-profit promotes downtown revitalization efforts. Heaphy says he's been in business in Lima for the last thirty years and the current momentum downtown is the greatest he's ever seen. Heaphy adds that other downtown businesses and restraunts have generated a new buzz on Main Street and he hopes his restaurant will only add to the atmosphere.
The building is split into two separate areas with Old City Prime serving steakhouse style meals downstairs and the Upper Lounge serving small plate selections. The Upper Lounge will also feature musical entertainment on the weekends.
The open house will be held this Friday and Saturday between six and 10 each night. Appetizers will be served and a jazz trio will entertain guests. The restaurant officially opens on Monday for lunch service.
