4 single serving mozzarella cheese sticks, cut into 18 pieces
1 28-ounce jar spaghetti sauce
1 16-ounce can crushed tomatoes
In a bowl, mix the ground turkey, bread crumbs, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic, onion and egg. Combine thoroughly and shape into 18 meatballs. Make a small indentation into each meatball and place a piece of cheese into the middle. Shape the ground turkey mixture around the cheese to make a round meatball. Repeat for all meatballs.
In a slow cooker, mix the spaghetti sauce and crushed tomatoes. Place the meatballs into the sauce mixture. Cook on LOW for 6 hours. Serve with cooked spaghetti or rice.
** Meatballs can be prepared and frozen. Allow an additional 2 hours of cooking time if starting from the frozen meatballs.
