Putnam County Issues

Posted: Updated:

A few issues on the ballot for Putnam County voters to decided on, but one county wide issue deals with the increased service for their emergency management services.

Putnam County asked voters to approve a .65 mill levy which would allow them to hire new employees and offer pay increases for part time employees. The unofficial results say that voters approved the levy by a 58% to 42% margin.

We talked to commissioner Travis Jerwers about the results.

Leipsic School District went back to voters to renew a 5.52 mills levy which was originally pass to avoid an operating deficit for the school district. Voters have decided to support or reject the renewal levy for the school by a 71% to 29% margin.

All the results are unofficial until the Board of Elections certifies the final numbers later this month.
