Delphos City Council's finance committee met Thursday night to firm up their general fund budget.
The City of Delphos has been working under a temporary spending plan since January 1st and have been working on a spending document that should get them through the rest of the year.
Thursday night, some council members got a chance to review the budget before it goes to a first reading Monday night.
Finance committee chair Josh Gillespie says the budget is pretty tight.
Gillispie blames poor planning for the situation they are in now and believes they'll be in worse shape if a one quarter of one percent income tax doesn't pass in May.
The new budget must be passed by the end of March.
Gillespie is pushing for another finance committee meeting in April to work on a contingency plan if the income tax fails.
