The 1994 ethnic cleansing of one million Tutsi's by Hutu's in Rwanda is chronicled in the 2004 movie "Hotel Rwanda".
Edouard Kayihura, a survivor of the genocide, spoke about the experience at Ohio Northern University Thursday night.
He says what happened at the hotel made famous in the movie wasn't reality.
Kayihura spent one hundred days as a refugee at the hotel and he's written a book about it in hopes of setting the record straight.
Before he moved to the United States, he helped prosecute those responsible for the mass killings. Kayihura's speech was part of ONU's "Unite for Awareness Week".
