Does money persuade the power of speech? In the political realm it's suggested that those who contribute the most gain more influence. This year the senate will vote on a constitutional amendment that would regulate campaign contributions. The proposed amendment would allow congress to control federal election spending and give states the opportunity to impose their own campaign finance rules. The perceived outcome would be less political control by billionaires. If the vote passes it would overturn two supreme court rulings that lifted limits on the amount individual donors can give to candidates. Campaign spending is used on several operations including ads, polling, salaries, and office space.
