Local business leaders had the chance to learn how they could afford to make their businesses more energy efficient at the Chamber's Wake, Rattle, and Roll event.
The Toledo Lucas County Port Authority is offering business financing through a program called Better Buildings. It's a new financing tool that helps businesses upgrade their facility to become more energy efficient. They can provide loans as small as $25,000 and single projects as big as 10 million dollars.
The Port Authority can offer financing for any renovations that will improve the energy efficiency of a business including windows, doors, insulation, lighting, roofing, HVAC systems, boilers, and chillers. They can also introduce alternative energy options such as solar and geothermal energy.
The Toledo Lucas County Port Authority can provide business financing to businesses of various sizes, they can work with government or municipal buildings, can help with small or large scale projects, and can work for profit or non- profit.
