West Ohio Food Bank in need of donations and volunteers

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. One local non-profit organization is hoping it will get people in the giving mood for more than just one day.

Giving Tuesday was created 4 years ago by the 92nd Street Y in New York City. It was a way to encourage people to give back to the community. Here in Lima, The West Ohio Food Bank is looking for volunteers to help out. Not only through the holidays, but all year. Donations of money and food are always needed, along with the donation of time. Volunteers that can help with repair and remodeling projects are always welcome along with donations of office furniture.

The food bank is holding a live drive this Saturday. The drive is to collect items that aren't normally donated but they are necessities some families do without because of finances. You can donate any personal hygiene items or cleaning supplies this Saturday, December 5th from 11 am to 1 pm. You can just drive by and drop them off at the food bank at 1380 East Kibby Street.
