Wanted Man Sends Picture to Lima Police

Social media is a common tool used to catch criminals, but according to the Lima Police one wanted man is taking matters into his own hands. The LPD Facebook page shows two pictures of 45 year old Donald "Chip " Pugh, who police are searching for on failure to appear on an OVI case. It appears the Lima man didn't like the pictures chosen, so he messaged them his own selfie, saying, "Here is a better photo that one is terrible." Lieutenant Andy Green says he spoke with Pugh Wednesday night asking him to turn himself in, but Pugh claims he's out of state.

Since Wednesday, the post has been shared nearly 1,000 times, and Green says this will help them locate the man. "He's drawing more attention to himself, which is going to make it easier for us to locate him, because the more attention that this post garners, the more people are going to see it, the more tips are going to come in about this guy," said Lieutenant Green, "So our hope at this point is that he will come to his senses and turn himself in and stop making this worse for himself."

Green says Pugh is also a person of interest in other cases including arson and vandalism. If you have information on his whereabouts you can contact the Lima Police Department, Allen County Sheriff's Office, Shawnee Township Police Department, Crimestoppers.
