The Allen County Land Reutilization Corporation is making progress with demolishing pipeline properties.

Land Bank Treasurer Rachael Gilroy says Ohio received $94.5 million through the Ohio Finance Agency's Neighborhood Initiative Program to demolish residential structures.

They hope to demolish three to four hundred homes. First they have to obtain the properties and change the title over to the Land Bank.

After the application process is complete they can move forward with demolition. "We'll submit that list to the board, let them review it, and then we will work with the County Prosector, myself as Treasurer will work with the County Prosecutor and start to foreclose on those properties, they will have to be certified delinquent, abandoned, blighted properties, and we will foreclose on those and get those into the Land Bank's name, and then we will prepare for the demolition process, so that's our first step here," said Gilroy.

Gilroy says the grant applications will open in September.
