CINCINNATI (AP) - A federal appeals court has agreed the University of Cincinnati should not have suspended a student accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student. The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal's 3-0 ruling agreed with a federal judge's 2016 order that put the suspension on hold after the accused student appealed the university's decision to impose one. He claims his constitutional rights to due process were violated.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, and Ohio are among the Republican-led and swing states that would lose significant federal financing under the GOP health care bill headed for a showdown in the Senate this week. Cuts that could increase the number of uninsured people have political implications for the 2018 and 2020 elections. Sixteen of the 30 states carried by President Donald Trump would be losers.

CLEVELAND (AP) - The Cleveland Clinic's chief executive says he opposes the Republican health care bill in the U.S. Senate because he believes it will burden hospitals, throw people off insurance and fail to address the rising cost of health care. Dr. Toby Cosgrove said Monday he's concerned revisions made to the bill Sunday didn't give doctors and insurers time to assess the legislation's impact. Republicans say they need to repeal and replace former President Barack Obama's health care system reforms.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Opponents of Ohio's system for removing inactive voters from rolls are lining up to urge the U.S. Supreme Court to toss the practices. Twelve other states and the District of Columbia, 27 black congressional caucus representatives; 17 former Justice Department officials; 36 former and current county election administrators; and Democratic U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown filed briefs Monday arguing the system is illegal. Ohio argues maintaining up-to-date voter rolls helps ensure election security.
