BreAnna Shore

Hello, Lima! I am very excited to begin my career with you. I come from a small town called Monticello, located in Minnesota. I grew up in a family of all boys (you can imagine) and I surround myself with friends who only chase life with hugs and high fives. This is not only my first experience in Ohio, but it is also my first meteorological job out of college.

In December of 2017, I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a BSATSC in Atmospheric Sciences and also obtained a minor degree in Mathematics. I was heavily involved in the institution’s AMS chapter, Broadcasting club, Women in Aviation, and several other scientific clubs. I was a teaching assistant for several years and I helped start/trial a tutoring service for the Aerospace school. I currently have ties with the university with expectations to convert an introduction to meteorology curriculum to an online course. If you cannot tell, I am very passionate for teaching others science. I believe it to be almost as romantic as baseball.

In my spare time I enjoy many things; I am very easy to please. Just to confirm a few lingering thoughts while reading this bio, yes, I am a nerd. Yes, I look at weather maps and weather photographs in my spare time- they are thee bee’s knees. When I am not nerding out about the weather, I enjoy a few other things: lifting weights, cooking, embroidering with my best friend/grandmother Margaret, playing baseball/softball, eating treats, church, traveling, taking power-naps, hunting, fishing, and exploring new adventures with my dog, Mildred. I also thoroughly enjoy airplanes; I intend to get my dispatch certification as well as my private pilot license in the near future.

On a concluding side note, being “Minnesota nice” is a real thing! Please, do not be shy. Feel free to approach me if we cross paths in a public place. I love meeting new people and making new connections. You may also follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@thebreeeskneees) to keep in touch with your local weather. I look forward to making myself comfortable here in Lima, Ohio at Your Hometown Stations.
