The Children's Garden is planning a few changes, thanks to some grant money.

The garden was awarded $10,000 from the Seeds of Change program, after being reviewed by the public and a panel of judges. The garden was chosen from nearly 600 applicants from all over the country. While education is an important part of what the money will be used for, supplies for the garden's upkeep, will be a major focus, too.

"We still need supplies. We need new lumber to rebuild our raised vegetable beds. I need an arborist to come in and treat our original Johnny Appleseed tree has some fire blight in it, and that's something we need a professional to do," commented volunteer coordinator, Gretchen Staley.

Visitors can expect to see big changes coming to the garden next spring.
