Lima Ohio -

Lima officials are looking into an option that may save its citizens money on electricity.

The Lima City Council met with Bill Bradish of Palmer Energy to discuss the possibility of joining a governmental electric aggregation. According to officials, a governmental aggregation is when a group of customers, or in this case citizens, come together to form a single, larger customer that buys energy for its members. As a result, the larger group may be able to obtain a cheaper electricity rate for its group members than they would have been able to get on their own.

Using himself as an example, John Nixon, the Lima City Council President, says, "I ran the quick number on my latest bill and it would save be about $6 or 15% a month."

The council members will now prepare a resolution to vote an upcoming meeting. If passed before August 9th, Lima citizens will then vote on whether or not to adopt the electric aggregation in the November elections.
