The woman who pled guilty to two counts of felony robbery appeared in court for sentencing Monday morning.

Judge Jeffrey Reed sentenced 26-year-old Kaylee Shoopman to four years in prison for each felony robbery charge, but the terms will be served concurrently. Shoopman robbed a bank on Lima's east side twice in a week back in 2016. According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, she robbed the Fifth Third Bank on Harding Highway on September 28th and again on October 3rd. During her second attempt, she wore a mask and presented a pellet gun to the teller, but employees were able to get a description of her vehicle.

Before hearing her sentence, an emotional Shoopman made a statement, "I'm broken and I need help. I'm a good person at heart, and in my right mind I would never have done these horrible things."

Shoopman stole more than $8,000 between the two robberies and is responsible for paying the still-missing $1,500. After six months, she is eligible for judicial release by Judge Reed.
