Some familiar names were honored at the 5th annual Agricultural Hall of Fame at the City Club.

The Agricultural Hall of Fame recognizes local people that have been instrumental to the success and excellence of agriculture in Allen County, either as a farmer or in any farm-related field. Committee chair, Beth Seibert says these inductees have made outstanding contributions to their professions, and their local involvement has served as an example to others. The five honored were Wendla Black, C. Mark Hershberger, Calvin Kiracofe and Robert and June Polter.

"To recognize people that have contributed considerable things to the agricultural community here in Allen County, and so we're very pleased that to be selected. There's a selection process and being selected to do that, different areas that we worked in, some with USDA which I worked with as well as the County Offices of Soil and Water Districts, and the Farm Bureau is represented here tonight, and then a couple that were farmers, that were well known and worked hard," commented inductee, C. Mark Hershberger.
