The Lima man allegedly involved in a fatal shooting in October of last year appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing Wednesday morning.

19-year-old Cory Jackson waived his right to a speedy trial in front of Judge David Cheney. His attorney Jerome Doute says more time is needed to properly prepare for trial. Jackson was arrested in April in Michigan on an unrelated charge, and was brought back to Lima on a murder warrant. That warrant was issued for Jackson after the deadly shooting of 20-year-old Amari Gooding at the Main Street Pub. Jackson is also facing an aggravated robbery with a firearm specification charge, a felony of the first degree. That stems from a robbery of a cab driver in Hancock County back on January 28th. Jackson also is accused of helping 23-year-old Brittany Carter rape the male cab driver during that robbery.

Jackson will remain in Allen County Jail and is set to have a final pre-trial hearing on September 8th for both charges. A jury trial is scheduled for November 6th.
