Some of the water that has accumulated in Hancock County will be finding its way to Putnam County, which is why officials met in Ottawa Thursday to discuss how they'll be dealing with the water.

Different departments are gearing up in their own ways for the flood, which is predicted to be around 28 feet. Officials are saying that it's possible for roads like 224 and 65 to be closed as the waters come in - so those driving should be aware of detours. "A lot of people probably looked at the website and saw maybe a 23 foot [flood], which is really something we're accustomed too," said Ottawa mayor Dean Meyer.  "I was shocked this morning when I saw 27.9, which I'm hearing is a conservative estimate now, so we have to take this seriously because this could be a real problem."

The mayor also says that sandbags will be available at the village garage for those that need them
