Motorcyclists from around the area came to Lima to participate in the annual Dan King Poker Run - a tradition that has been held for the last decade.  The run took riders around the area to raise money for different causes; this year, the Lima Noon Sertoma, Angel Paws for Veterans, area pediatric departments, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital received donations.

"Each year we have different causes, we try to help out different families, different organizations, and the King family has done an awesome job - this will be the 10th year that they've done it, just to get awareness out there for for different people," said Aaron Garrett, a volunteer and friend of Dan King.

It’s an emotional but happy time for family and friends who knew Dan King, who lost his life in 2007.  The run is dedicated to him, and those that knew him say that this event is something that goes right along with the kind of person he was.

"He would be doing this for anybody else, so having me come here one day of the year, just to support him and his family, it's the least I can do for them," Garrett said.

"Dan was the kind of guy to give the shirt off his back, so to see money going out to people that need it and to help other organizations, I'm sure that he's smiling down on us," said Cliff Nickles, a volunteer and friend of Dan King.

And for riders, it’s just a fun time for a good cause.

"It's a motorcycle thing, coming out and supporting the cause, which is Dan King," said Dana Frost.  "They've got all kinds of auction items ans you can go home with some good stuff."

The run had 84 registered riders overall.
