The LACNIP Community Gardens are growing in more ways than one this season.

The Lima Allen County Neighborhoods in Partnership, getting a grant from St. Rita's Health Partners for their gardening program. The $2,500 grant is being matched by LACNIP, which has enabled the Collett Street Garden to expand. Several fruit trees, and 20 new raised planting beds have been installed along with several vertical grow boxes. There are 8 garden sites in the program with dozens of gardeners, both adult and youth tending to them.

As for the produce, it is becoming abundant. St. Rita's owns the property where the Collett Street Garden is located and have been a supporter for many years. With the growing interest in gardening, St. Rita's is excited to be a part of such a great cause to promote healthy living.
